By Elfego Pinon IV. Mentor Prof Sarita Cargas. Self-driving cars are becoming more common, but are they worth the investment? To find out, I researched studies on how these cars work and how they would affect people and the environment. I found strong arguments on both sides. Supporters say self-driving cars will make roads safer, reduce traffic, and cut pollution. Critics worry about reluctant consumers, whether the technology is reliable, and argue that they will increase road congestion. Overall, the evidence more strongly suggests that self-driving cars would be a good investment, especially because of their potential to save lives and help the economy in the long run. This matters because transportation affects everyone. These cars have the potential to make travel safer and more efficient, making their development a worthwhile pursuit for society.
